Interference

Interference, 2018
Inks and oil on paper, 30 x 21 cm

A series of works on paper exploring the fragile relationship between insular ecosystems and embodied subjects under patriarchal-colonial control. Inspired by a trip to Guadeloupe, Interference reimagines flowers through an anthropomorphic lens—stamens and pistils becoming metaphors for reproductive bodies in states of vulnerability. These botanical-human hybrids evoke the island’s unique ecology, shaped by geographic isolation yet irrevocably altered by colonial plant migrations.
