Le geste manquant

Texte de Sonia Recasens

What do a pair of socks darned by a Carmelite nun and the Apollo 11 space mission have in common? Sonia Recasens connects the stitches of the missing gesture, weaving sensitive correspondences between the works of Perinne Lacroix (Documents d'artistes Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) and Cécile Babiole (Documents d'artistes Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur)...
A poetic reflection on artistic gesture and the intimate stories carried by textiles.

Post-Renaissance

Proposition of Pascal Bernard
Former documentation officer for Documents d'artistes Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Pascal Bernard readily describes himself as a "collector of exhibitions." He has a particular interest in the practices of citing art history within contemporary creation.

This itinerary highlights contemporary works that bear witness to the persistence of references to the Renaissance — whether Italian, French, or Flemish — and …This itinerary highlights contemporary works that bear witness to the persistence of references to the Renaissance — whether Italian, French, or Flemish — and to their capacity to endure through time. Far from being limited to mere illustrative citations, they are part of a process of reactivation that turns images from the past into the material for new visual narratives.
