Professional actions

To support artists in the development of their careers and strengthen their links with professional networks, DDA-AuRA develops support, advice and networking actions.
The team also provides professional training and conducts educational and mediation activities to present its editorial work and promote artists to a variety of audiences.

Studio visits — Meet-up

/

The inter-regional programme Meet-up of the Réseau documents d'artistes consists in inviting art professionals to meet the territorial artistic scenes. Each year, a tour of workshops and venues is organized in a territory of the region.

These prospecting trips are mainly financed by the dda Network and organized by the teams in the regions. They aim to promote knowledge of the work of artists in national and international professional networks. To reflect the territorial dynamics as a whole, these stays are also an opportunity to meet the managers of structures, visit exhibitions, places of production or diffusion.

Interventions

DDA-AuRA carries out various interventions each year within the framework of training, juries, educational or mediation actions. The team is also regularly invited to professional consultations, at regional or national level with the dda Network.

Particularly attentive to the situation of artists and associations in the territory, we wish to contribute, as far as possible, to collective reflections promoting the recognition of the specificities of the visual arts sector and the professionalization of the working conditions of the artistic scene.

Advices

Since 2021, the team has been invited by AC//RA and ESACM Clermont-Ferrand to lead training modules for artists or students from the region.

Critical texts

Recognizing the needs of artists, the DDA Network has developed various actions to support the production of critical content on their work.

The “Points of View” section has thus been developed on the website reseau-dda.org around the invitation of authors to take a transversal look at the works of artists of the various funds.

Monographs are also produced each year with the help of the DDA Network. Artists with a renewed need for writing about their work are put in contact with art critics chosen especially to produce unpublished texts, which feed the online documentation of artists and support their dissemination.
In 2023, DDA-AuRA received support from Fondation de l’Olivier to initiate the production of new monograph texts.

Research

At the initiative of Stéphane Bellin, Senior Lecturer in Information and Communication Science, the work of Documents d’artistes Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is the subject in 2022-2023 research projet CréaDOCte led by a team from GRESEC - Université Grenoble Alpes.

Funded as part of the UGA’s policy of supporting teachers and researchers, this project aims to analyse the shift from documentation to communication by targeting the contemporary art sector.
