MSDG (MOLY SABATA GLEIZES DANGAR) was produced on the occasion of the 3rd Isère Department Contemporary Art Prize and Moly-Sabata artist residency. The work is composed of three elements: two blown glass masks, sandstone sculptures and a research publication.

This edition weaves together fragments from the Moly-Sabata archives—personal letters, reflections, and writings that trace Anne Dangar’s spiritual and formal investigations through the language of clay.

As an Australian artist, I was especially moved by her exchanges with Australian painter Grace Crowley. In these letters addressed at the beginning of the 20th century, Dangar speaks with quiet urgency about integration, belonging, and the tension between artistic conviction and geographical distance—echoes that still resonate across time and space.

The edition also delves into her intellectual pursuits and spiritual relationship with her mentor Albert Gleizes, revealing an alignment of vision shaped through pedagogy and practice. Interwoven throughout are documents from my working process—drawings, ceramic studies, and visual references from my personal archive—which extend and respond to these historical dialogues.
